Another little appearance by Cam and the rest of Adam Lambert’s band on Ustream last night.
Cam appeared on Doug’s USTREAM yesterday during a break from her first rehearsal with Adam’s band. She talks about how she joined the band, her favourite Adam song, and people she’s worked with before. Watch it here:
Auction winner Amber got the chance of talking on the phone with UHH for a bit and she asked them a few questions and sent them here. Thanks Amber!
1. What’s on your girls’ TiVos or what do you like watching on TV at the moment?
Leisha: Damages, 30 Rock, CBS Sunday Morning, Millionaire Matchmaker
Cam: American Idol, Dexter, and pretty much anything on the Discovery or History Channels.
2. If you could pick a video game, new or old, that would describe your life or would want your life to be like, what would it be and why?
Leisha: I don’t really play video games anymore, but I’d have to say Frogger. Yes, definitely Frogger.
Cam: I do enjoy playing my Wii. As for a game, I guess it would have to be Resident Evil. I wouldn’t want my life to be like that, but it’s fun to shoot people, although I’m not violent, and it feels like I’m in a scary movie.
3. Any idea of when your second album will be released?
Cam: Late summer 2010 or fall 2010. It takes about six months to prep an album.
4. Will FREE CITY be designing the album cover again?
Leisha: No, actually, we have a friend named Elise who will be doing all the artwork for this album.
5. What’s the name of the second album going to be?
Cam: Tentatively, we’re calling it Battle, but nothing’s for sure. We’re literally waiting for the 11th hour to decide everything. We just don’t want to name the album after a song like we did in both Common Reaction and I See Red.
I’m not entirely sure where these videos are from. But my guess is it’s something to do with an auction win.
eBay winner Amber sent in her story of what she won at the auction that UHH held for a week to raise money to make their new album:
On Thursday, March 4th, 2010, I had the opportunity to do something not many Uh Huh Her fans (if any at all) have done before– I got to speak to them on the phone. Yes! I received a phone call from UHH! I was fortunate enough to be their phone call winner, and I cannot even begin to tell you how big of a privilege it was to answer my phone and have Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey on the other end. In what was only supposed to be a 15-minute phone conversation, turned into about 35 minutes of on and off laughter, questions and answers, and random banter. This experience is definitely something I’ll never forget.
My cell phone rang at about 9:30 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), and then I remembered “Not a Love Song” is my ring back tone, so Leisha and Cam got to hear THEIR music play before I answered. The girls were half-laughing and I think, kind of singing to it when I picked up. I said, “Hello? Is this Leisha and Cam?” and of course, it was them, sounding just as eager to speak to me as I was to speak to them. They began by thanking me for my support and telling me how much it means to them, and thought it was very cool I have one of their songs as my ring back tone. They then asked about me– what I do, where I live, what I’ve been up to lately, among other things. I found it very humbling they cared enough to ask me a few questions about myself.
Our conversation then shifted to the “nitty gritty” about their upcoming album. Nothing is set in stone so-to-speak, so I don’t want to say too much; however, the girls were able to give me a few answers about their 2nd album. Leisha and Cam have both confirmed this new album will be “polar opposite” of Common Reaction in the way it comes out. Their process for working on the new album changed a great deal (mostly since Leisha didn’t have to shoot The L Word while working on this new record). Leisha joked, “It’s probably something she didn’t want, but Cam had to see my face every day. It was like, I’m here now.” Any way you look at it, a lot of “love” when into making this album, and it WILL BE worth the wait. According to Camila, it’s safe to say fans can have this new album in their hands by late summer 2010/fall 2010 since in the next two weeks, it will be sent off to be mixed (it takes about six months to prep an album). And yes, there will be a tour with this record (United States for sure and a few other sporadic places), but concert dates/places are still to be determined.
From there, my conversation with UHH went anywhere and everywhere. It went from Cam’s work with Kelly Osbourne (she does a great impression of Kelly, by the way) to Adam Lambert, then onto Leisha’s work on The L Word and how it affected UHH writing/recording sessions, to their new and old pets, including Leisha’s new dog named “Zoo” and Cam’s new cat called “Frank” (named after Frank Sinatra because this cat has such beautiful blue eyes). FYI– Frank enjoys humping and biting every blanket in Cam’s house that he can find, and Cam just tells him now to “Have at it. Hump away, man.” Leisha then joked, “Like mother, like son.” My face and my abs hurt from them making me laugh so hard! Ha-ha! A few other things we talked about are: Cam now has five tattoos, and her car is nice and fixed after the “palm tree incident” she mentioned on twitter. Meanwhile, Leisha now enjoys watching CBS Sunday Morning since it’s a low-key 60 Minutes as well watching Millionaire Matchmaker.
As the conversation came to a close, they thanked me again for my support, and I thanked them for this opportunity, and told them how wonderful it is they found each other and formed our beloved Uh Huh Her. I’ve been a fan of Cam’s since her work with Kelly Osbourne as well as Dr. Dre, and a fan of Leisha’s for about 16-17 years now, so it’s pretty amazing they merged together to form this band. I also told Leisha how I’ve been a long-time fan of hers since The Murmurs, and she was very flattered. I even told her the story of when I was in the 5th grade, I used to go around singing “You Suck” all the time, and my mom used to get really mad at me for singing those lyrics. Thus, she offered a “Sorry, Mom!” as a peace offering.
I’ll never forget getting to talk to them on the phone, and what made this conversation even better is that they said they wouldn’t forget me either. I feel honored and privileged to have spoken to them on the phone as well as been given the opportunity to contribute to the release of their second album. Much love for you, Cam and Leisha! I cannot wait to get Battle (tentatively the name of their 2nd album) into my anxious hands.

Thanks again Amber!
